Triviyo can keep a Mailchimp audience up to date with your customers who agreed to receive marketing. You send the campaigns from Mailchimp; Triviyo only maintains who is on the audience.
What it does
- Adds every customer whose marketing consent is turned on to the audience you pick, with first name, last name and email address. Nothing else is sent: no bookings, phone numbers or payment details.
- Unsubscribes a customer in Mailchimp when their marketing consent is turned off in Triviyo, if Triviyo had added them.
- Never sends customers without marketing consent. People who unsubscribed in Mailchimp stay unsubscribed; Triviyo does not subscribe them again.
- Checks for changes about every five minutes. Update now in the settings sends changes straight away.
Where consent comes from
Marketing consent is a setting on each customer: turn it on in the customer's profile in Triviyo, or set marketingConsent through the REST API. The booking page does not ask guests for marketing consent, so customers are only sent once you or your systems record their consent.
Set it up
- In Mailchimp, open Profile → Extras → API keys and create an API key.
- In Triviyo, open Settings → Integrations → Email marketing.
- Paste the key under Mailchimp, choose Load lists and pick the audience.
- Choose Connect. The first update starts at once.
Limitations
- One audience per provider. To send customers to a different audience, connect again and pick the new one.
- One-way. Unsubscribes or edits made in Mailchimp are not copied back to Triviyo.
- Your own Mailchimp account and plan. Triviyo uses your API key and your Mailchimp limits.
Troubleshooting
- The connection says Reconnect: Mailchimp refused the API key, for example because it was deleted. Create a new key and connect again.
- A customer is missing: check that marketing consent is turned on in the customer's profile, then choose Update now.
